President Rouhani: US not loyal to any int’l commitment
Tehran, US administration behavior in the past few years has been in a way that introduced it as an untrustworthy country which is disloyal to all its commitments, said Iran's President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday.
Iran and North Korea have always had close views and supported each other in many critical international points and in the global community, said President Rouhani, speaking in a meeting with the foreign minister of North Korea Ri Yong Ho.
The president described establishment of full peace and security in the Korean Peninsula as Iran's wish and said, Tehran is willing to develop and deepen international relations and cooperation in all fields, including with Pyongyang.
He also went on to refer to the United States' unilateral withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as an international agreement, saying, The US administration performance in these years has led the country to be considered untrustworthy and unreliable around the world which does not meet any of its obligations.
In the current situation, friendly countries should develop their relations and cooperation in international community, added the president.
At the same meeting, the foreign minister of North Korea referred to the friendly and close relations between Tehran and Pyongyang and said, North Korea's strategic policy is to deepen relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and confront unilateralism.
He also described US withdrawal from the nuclear deal and attempts to restore sanctions as an action against international rules and regulations.
North Korean foreign minister had already met with his Iranian counterpart on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction with the existing bilateral relations calling for further expansion of ties.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.
The visit is being made upon a request by the North Korean foreign minister and in line with bilateral interactions to further expand bilateral ties.
Since the beginning of the year, Ri Yong Ho has visited China, Russia, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Sweden.
