Professor of Sharif Univ. receives Japan’s ‘Shining Sun’ medal

Tehran, Reza Yousefi, faculty member of Sharif University of Technology, has received the 'Shining Sun, Golden Lights' medal of Japan for his cultural and scientific activities.

In a ceremony, held at the Japanese embassy in Tehran on Tuesday, Shining Sun medal was awarded to Reza Yousefi, Assistant Professor at Sharif University of Technology.

The award had been awarded to the Iranian top scholar in May this year.

He is the only Iranian to receive the 'Shining Sun, Golden Lights' medal.

The Sharif University's faculty member holds a number of positions, including the head of the Japan Graduate Student Association in Iran, which comprises Iranians who have studied Japanese on Japan government's scholarships.

The professor is also the cultural and scientific attache to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Japan.
