Iran adopted a positive stance from the beginning of Qatar blockade crisis and the people and government of Qatar are thankful of Islamic Republic for such stances, Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on the sidelines of 140th Ordinary General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and its related meetings.

Qatari Emir has underlined development of all-out ties with Iran, the official underlined.

He said that Iran and Qatar share similar stance on Islamic World issues.

The Qatari prime minister noted that he will pursue facilitation of visa issuance for the Iranian traders, residing in this Persian Gulf state.

The 139th IPU General Assembly announced at its closing session in Geneva in October last year that it will hold its 140th session and its related meetings in Qatar from 6-10 April 2019.

The UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt dubbed as the Arab Quartet had submitted a joint statement to the General Secretariat of the IPU during the 139th General Assembly, objecting Qatar's hosting of the 140th General Assembly of the IPU but in spite of their opposition, the country is hosting the international event.
