Quake injures 91 in southeast Iran
Tehran, At least 91 people were injured after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake shook the city of Sirach in Iran's southeastern Province of Kerman early Monday morning, a local medical official said.
Head of Kerman Emergency Department Mohammad Saberi told IRNA that seven wounded people have been hospitalized for bone fractures and the rest were outpatients.
Reports by seismological centers affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 01:09 hours local time (20: 39 hours GMT) and its epicenter was registered at 57.50 degrees longitude and 30:37 degrees latitude in the depth of 10 kilometers underground.
Iran sits on major seismological fault lines, making it one of the world's most quake-prone countries.
