Remains of 60 martyrs of war returned to Iran
Qasr-e Shirin, Remains of the bodies of 60 anonymous martyrs of Iraqi imposed war on Iran in 1980-88 were returned to the country on Wednesday.
Bodies of the unknown martyrs were brought to Qasr-e Shirin through Khosravi border in west of Iran, governor of this western Iranian city told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The wartime bodies belong to those martyred in the eastern Iraqi province of Diyala in 1986, Morad Ali Tatar said.
Tatar added that the bodies of the martyrs, which were delivered to Iran in exchange of the bodies of 700 Iraqis, will be transferred to Tehran to be identified.
Qasr-e Shirin in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah was under occupation by the Iraqi forces for two years during the imposed war.
