Rouhani: All Iranian people owners of country, revolution
Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani said late on Monday that the Islamic Revolution does not belong to a special religion; rather all of the people and religions are owner of the country and Islamic Revolution, as they were actively present in the scene.
In a meeting with Sunni scholars and elites, he added that Sunnis were present in all the scenes, especially in elections when they elected their representatives.
I have said on several occasions that the dignity and social status of all ethnic groups and religions should be safeguarded so that they will actively engage in the country's affairs, he said.
Sunni brothers' engagement in different political and social areas has increased over the past five or six years, as two Sunni dears have been appointed as Iran's ambassadors abroad, he said, noting that the government considers you honesty border guards of the country.
The government does not differentiate between Sunni and Shia in providing services and they are the same everywhere, as we all are Muslims and Iranians, he said.
At the end of his remarks, Rouhani referred to various threats posed by the enemies, saying that Iran and Iranian nation are more glorious than that one can threaten them.
