Rouhani: Iran, Lesotho call for fight against terrorism
Tehran, Aug 6, IRAN -- Visiting Lesotho King Letsie III conferred on Sunday with President Hassan Rouhani on issues of mutual interests along with regional and international developments, mainly on fight against terrorism and ways to prevent their expansion.
In the meeting, President Rouhani welcomed Lesotho King for his attendance at the swearing-in ceremony, and said the two nations are very close in terms of views, believes, wishes and morals and such cultural commonalities help bring the two nations much closer.
Iran sets no limits on expansion of relations between the two countries; President Rouhani said, adding that it deems necessary the two sides' economic and cultural sectors to broaden cooperation through indentifying each other's capabilities.
Iran attaches importance to the expansion of friendly cooperation with African countries; President Rouhani said, expressing the hope that the current visit of Lesotho King would lead to the expansion of cooperation and relations.
Lesotho King Letsie III, for his part, expressed satisfaction over the meeting and thanked hospitality of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Friendship and sincerity between the two nations and expressed the hope to witness expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
Lesotho respects peaceful coexistence, non-interfering in others' affairs, restoration of calmness, peace and security and call for expansion of cooperation and relations with those countries pursuing the same policy such as the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said.
He also called Iran to support Lesotho at international organizations.
