Rouhani meets 3 Iraqi grand religious clerics in Najaf
Najaf, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani met with three senior clerics in Najaf on Wednesday afternoon.
Rouhani and the accompanying delegation met Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Saeed alHakim in Najaf with him on Wednesday afternoon.
The president arrived in Najaf on Wednesday and first went to pilgrim the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS).
He then went to meet Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali alHusseini, the Iranian Shia marja (highranking religious authority) of Iraq, and conferred with him.
The Iranian chief executive then separately met with Grand Ayatollahs Mohammad Ishaq alFayyad and Bashir alNajafi.
Visiting the old house (Beit) of the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran and meeting with Seyyed Ali Akbar MohtashamiPour, representative of Imam Khomeini Publishing House and Sayyed Ali Khomeini were among other programs of the president today in Najaf.
The president of Iran arrived in Karbala on Tuesday evening to go on pilgrimage of the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and meet tribal leaders of the provinces of Karbala, Babylon and Euphrates.
Rouhani arrived in Baghdad on a threeday official visit, and during two days staying in the Iraqi capital, met and talked with officials and elites of the country.
