Russia: No Iran request for transfer of oil via Russian soil

Moscow, Iran has made no request for transfer of its exported oil via Russian soil, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said.

In response to a question if Iran has made such a request from Russia, Kozak said he had no knowledge of this which means Iran has not made such a request.

In a unilateral measure, the United States withdrew from a nuclear deal Iran struck with six world powers in 2015 to curb its nuclear program in exchange for sanction relief and since then Washington has exerted pressures on other countries to follow its anti-Iran sanctions.

The second stage of US sanctions targeting Iranian oil exports is to take effect on November 4.

The measures taken by the US administration to cut Iranian oil exports and irresponsible statements made by American officials have only served to push up oil prices which are expected to go higher once the new round of US sanctions go into force.
