Russia slams US-led coalition use of banned weapons in Syria
Tehran, Deputy chairman of Russian State Duma's Defense Committee called for conducting an int'l investigation into the US-led coalition's bombardment of different areas in Deir Ezzor countryside with internationally banned weapons under pretext of fighting Daesh.
Interviewed by Sputnik news agency, Yury Shvytkin underlined the need for submitting an immediate request to the Organization of Prohibition of Chemical Weapons for conducting official investigation into the incident and referring it to the UN Security Council.
He stressed that this act flagrantly breaches the rights of the Syrian people and such acts should be discussed at the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly since they threaten security and stability in the entire world.
Over the past few hours , the international coalition attacked with Internationally banned weapons Hadjin town in Deir-Ezzor in the southeastern countryside.
Last September 8, two US aircrafts carried out strikes on Hadjin using phosphorus incendiary munitions, according to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry.
On June, 2017, the coalition targeted with the internationally banned white phosphorus bombs Raqqa city, leaving dozens of martyrs and wounded and causing big damage to the houses.
