Russia to continue cooperation with Iran in Syria: Envoy
Moscow, Russia will continue its cooperation with Iran on fighting terrorism in Syria, Russian envoy to Tehran said.
We are satisfied with level of relations between Iran and Russia in paving the way for de-escalation zones in Syria, Levan Jagarian said in an interview with Russian News Agency TASS published on Monday.
Both countries played major role in fighting terrorism, he said adding that cooperation between Iran and Russia in finding a political solution to Syrian issues and fighting the remaining of terrorist groups will be underway.
Iran and Russia will also be in touch with Turkey as a peace guarantor in Syria, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Jagarian emphasized Iran's commitments to nuclear accord known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
JCPOA is the result of long and challenging negotiations, he said reiterating that no change should be suggested with this regard.
It is obvious that Iran, Russia and the European signatories are concerned about the future of the nuclear deal.
We are pleased with Iran-Russia cooperation level under the JCPOA commitments, he said.
The Russian envoy went on to say that a delegation from the Russian nuclear energy company 'Rosatom' is in Iran to hold talks with Iranian partners on shifting the usage of Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant.
Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant (FFEP) is an uranium enrichment facility located 20 miles (32 km) northeast of the Iranian city of Qom, near Fordow village. It is the second Iranian uranium enrichment facility, the other one being that of Natanz.
