Russian Dep FM calls Arabs to accept Iran nonaggression plan
Tehran, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov asked the Arab countries to agree with Iran's suggestion for NonAggression Pact.
Speaking to the Arabic Russia Today on Wednesday, he said that Russia has put forward some suggestions to strengthen international agreements and guaranteeing their implementation."
He added that Tehran's suggestion for signing nonaggression agreement with the Persian Gulf states was offered at the right time.
He also said that Iran's proposition is in line with the previous Russian suggestion for trustmaking measures in the region.
Addressing the Arab nations, he said that the suggestions are on the table and Russia is ready to help them to be implemented.
Achieving that also helps keeping Iran nuclear deal, he said, hoping that the participant of Mecca [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC) will listen to the messages from Iran and Russia to ease the existing tensions.
In his joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart MohamedAli alHakim in Baghdad, Iranian Minister Foreign Affairs MohammadJavad Zarif said that Iran is after having balanced ties with its neighbors, so Tehran suggests that a nonaggression at be signed among regional countries.
This is while certain Arab states, including Saudi Arabia and the Emirates, are following the US to create wars and insatiability, which is naturally a serious obstacle on the way of reaching a diplomatic approach and can make the region more critical.
