Russian envoy appointed UNSC rotary president
New York, Permanent Representative of Russian Federation to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya was appointed on Friday as the rotary president of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of June.
Nebenzya is scheduled to present his plans and priorities within hours.
Since the beginning of the 2018, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Peru and Poland have been UNSC presidents for one month.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, charged with the maintenance of international peace and security as well as accepting new members to the United Nations and approving any changes to its United Nations Charter.
