Riyadh, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), has emerged as a leading force in addressing humanitarian crises around the world, giving special attention to the landmine crisis in Yemen.KSrelief's humanitarian programs extend aid across vital sectors in 98 countries, but its efforts in Yemen go beyond immediate relief measures.Focus on Long-Term SolutionsThe center has spearheaded impactful projects like "Masam", dedicated to clearing Yemeni lands of mines. The project was launched in 2018; the teams involved have tirelessly removed over 435,000 randomly planted mines, mitigating the threat they pose to civilians.Beyond Demining: Rehabilitation and SupportRecognizing the lasting impact of landmine injuries, KSrelief also established the "Prosthetic Limbs Program". The centers under the program offer comprehensive services, including prosthetic limb fitting, maintenance, and physical/psychological rehabilitation. From 2020 until today, the program has rendered over 206,000 free services, restoring mobility and hope to more than 56,000 individuals in various Yemeni governorates.Global CollaborationOn World Mine Awareness Day, KSrelief joins the international community in raising awareness about the danger posed by landmines.
