Saudi, Israeli officials behind Iran sanctions: Analyst
Top Saudi and Israeli officials are behind Iran sanctions, a political analyst from Azerbaijan Republic said on Friday.
Zionist Regime's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud had a role in provoking the US President Donald Trump to impose new sanctions against Iran, a political analyst from Azerbaijan Republic said.
Zartosht Alizadeh made the remarks in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
He referred to exemption of eight countries from the US sanctions on Iran's oil sector and noted that Washington is not as powerful as the past to dictate it's willing to other countries.
The US President Donald Trump announced early May that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions which had been lifted under the accord.
The first round of the sanctions snapped back into place in August, with the second round, which will aim the energy and oil sectors, taking effect on November 5.
This is while other signatories to the deal (i.e. Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia) have thus far criticized Washington's unilateral move and have repeatedly stressed their commitment to the deal.
