Saudi national rowing team player Hussein Ali Reda has won membership in the first-ever Athletes Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for West Asia.

Following a three-week election process held on the sidelines of the 19th Asian Games "Hangzhou 2022," a Saudi rower has been appointed to the nine-member committee. Over 8,000 Asian athletes participated in the election process and cast their votes, selecting ten candidates from a pool of 26 Asian athletes.

The primary role of the Athletes' Committee within the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) is to represent athletes and convey their voices and aspirations. The committee aims to contribute to the development of the Olympic movement across the Asian continent.
