SCO slams terrorist attack in SE Iran
Tehran, Secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Friday condemned the recent terrorist attack on Iranian security forces southeast of the country.
Vladimir Norov in a letter to Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad KeshavarzZadeh slammed the suicide attack on a bus, carrying the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel which led to martyrdom of 28 and wounded 12 on February 12.
A terrorist group called Jaish alAdl, affiliated to AlQaida, claimed responsibility for the incident.
Elsewhere in the letter, SCO official expressed his deep sorrow for the sad event and sympathized with the bereaved families of the victims.
SCO condemns any type of terrorist activities and is committed to fight terrorism, separatism and extremism, Norov said in the letter.
SCO secretary general's letter was a response to a letter from the Iranian ambassador to China, in which the envoy had called for much cooperation from SCO member states in fighting terrorism.
