Senior Iran cleric rejects talks with US
Tehran, Senior Iranian cleric on Friday rejected negotiations with the US President Donald Trump.
Negotiation with this US government and this US president is not possible, Tehran's Interim Friday Prayers Leader Kazem Seddiqi said in his Friday prayers' second sermon.
The cleric touched on the US crimes in Vietnam and its use of atomic bomb in Japan's Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the World War II and described it as the source of violence in the world.
He cautioned the Iranian officials against negotiation with the current US government and said that some officials want to repeat the past mistakes.
Seddiqi referred to the US violation of the Iranian nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as an example of its disloyalty to the international agreements.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the developments in Syria and said that the country is close to victory over terrorism.
Pointing to the Saudi and UAE losses in the war against Yemen, Seddiqi said that the country is getting stronger day by day.
