Senior Sunni cleric sympathizes with Chabahar bomb attack victims
Zahedan, A senior Iranian Sunni cleric has sympathized with the bereaved families of Thursday car bomb attack on a police headquarters in Chabahar in southeastern SistanBalouchestan Province.
Friday Prayers Leader at Maki Mosque of Sunni Muslims in Zahedan and Director of Darololum Seminary of Sunni School of Thought in the same city Mowlavi Abdolhamid Ismail Zehi in a message, a copy of which was made available to IRNA on Thursday, deplored the tragic event.
'I have repeatedly emphasized and emphasize again now that any insecurity in the country and the province by any person or group will never be in favor of the region; rather, it will help enemies of Iran and those opportunists, who want to abuse the situation and meet their objectives.'
He condemned the event and wished the martyrs divine ascendance and speedy recovery for the injured.
Two policemen were martyred and as many as 43 people were injured in the Thursday terrorist suicide attack on a police headquarters in southeastern Chabahar Port in SistanBalouchestan Province.
An informed source told IRNA that those martyred were Lieutenant Daryoush Ranjbar and conscript Nasser Darzadeh.
The source, who wanted not to be named, said driver of a Toyota Van, laden with explosives, tried to run into the police headquarters in Chabahar but police was brave and vigilant enough to take timely action and prevent him to do so. The suicide bomber then blew himself up at around 09:55 hours local time on Thursday and as a result two police forces were martyred and the suicide attacker was killed, according to the official.
