Shamkhani stresses bilateral coop between Iran, Kyrgyzstan

Tehran, IRNA – Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani in a meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Marat Imankulov on Wednesday stressed the need for cooperation between Iran and Kyrgyzstan, adding that Iran can and is willing to use its capacities to develop the region.

Shamkhani said that Iran enjoy many scientific, technical, and transit capacities that can cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in these fields.

Calling for cooperation between the two countries in the region, he noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran can and is willing to use its capacities to develop the region.

Pointing to the developments in Afghanistan and the Western plan to destabilize the region, Shamkhani emphasized the need for all countries in the region to contribute to helping the Afghan people and to deal with insecure factors. He expressed hope that Iran and Kyrgyzstan can cooperate more on this issue.

Imankulov, for his part, stressed the importance of bilateral relations with Iran and emphasized the need to expand cooperation, especially in the area of regional security.
