Shanghai Cooperation Organization supports JCPOA
Beijing,Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) foreign ministers in a statement issued on Tuesday supported Iran's nuclear deal called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
On Monday, foreign ministers of China and Russia explicitly defended JCPOA and announced that Moscow and Beijing do not allow any country to destroy nuclear deal with Iran.
They declared that Beijing and Moscow agreed to stand against any US sabotage of the JCPOA.
SCO foreign ministers also underlined fight against extremism in this statement.
The ministers expressed concern on strengthening extremists in northern parts of Afghanistan.
During the meeting, joint actions to bolster efforts in direction to offer appropriate response to the new challenges and threats in the framework of Shanghai responsibilities were considered.
The SCO summit meeting is to be held on June, 2018 in China.
The SCO was founded in June 15, 2001 in Shanghai, China, by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
In year 2015 India and Pakistan also joined the organization.
Iran, Afghanistan, Mongolia and Belarus are now observer members of the SCO.
