Speaker: Iran-Russia cooperation brings positive outcome to region
Tehran, Feb 6, IRNA � Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said on Tuesday that Iran and Russia have had good cooperation in various fields, especially a political settlement of Syrian crisis and regional tensions.
In a meeting with special envoy of State Duma of Russia Leonid Slutsky, he added that it is necessary for both countries to continue cooperation so as to make further achievements.
Noting that establishment of Iran-Russia joint high parliamentary commission is a suitable initiative for helping promote Tehran-Moscow cooperation, Larijani said that of course, all the activities should not be restricted to Syria and regional issues.
He further noted that the two countries have the potential to further improve economic relations, as there are various areas of activities.
Slutsky, for his part, hailed Larijani and Majlis' role in regional developments, saying, that Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin considers Larijani as a friend and an influential person in strengthening bilateral relations.
All the capacities of the two countries should be used for promoting mutual cooperation, he said, noting that his country is ready to prepare necessary grounds for building common future.
