Speaker stresses developing Tehran-Tokyo ties
Tehran, Iran Majlis (Parliament) speaker Ali Larijani has underlined the importance of promoting relations between Iran and Japan in various fields.
Talking to reporters before leaving Tehran for Tokyo, Larijani said massive turnout in rallies marking the 40th victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution was a response to the US rhetoric.
Referring to the importance of developing relations between the two countries, he said the current trip is aimed at broadening bilateral cooperation.
Economic interactions should be definitely reinforced, he reiterated.
Fortunately, Iran and Japan maintained good cooperation in the past, he said.
He went on to say that both countries have established good cooperation in the economic field.
Reinforcing relations with Japan is of importance for Iran, Larijani noted.
Larijani will in his two-day visit to Japan meet and confer with Japan Speaker of the Parliament and a number of Japanese officials.
Advisor and head of the Speaker's office Mohammad Jafari, parliament deputy representing Tehran Alireza Rahimi, parliament deputy representing the city of Sirjan Shahbaz Hasanpour Biglari and some other members of parliament are accompanying Larijani in his visit to Japan at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart.
