Strong aftershocks rock western Iran
Tehran, � Two earthquakes measuring 5.2 and 4.6 on the Richter scale jolted Sar Pol-e Zahab in western province of Kermanshah early Monday.
According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the 5.2 Richter tremor occurred at 04:08 hours local time (0:38 GMT) at the depth of 8 km underground.
The epicenter of the quake was located at 45.75 degrees longitude and 34.38 degrees latitude.
Meanwhile another earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale rocked the area at 4:49 hours local time (1:19 GMT).
The epicenter of the quake was located at 45.07 degrees longitude and 34.36 degrees latitude and in the depth of 9 km underground.
An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale jolted the area early Sunday which has left more than 500 injured.
