Supreme Leader appoints new IRGC commanders
Tehran, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) acting commander and deputy commander for coordination.
In two separate decrees, released on Thursday, the Supreme Leader appointed Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi as acting commander of the IRGC and Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi as the deputy commander for coordination of the country's military force.
Ayatollah Khamenei, who is also commander in chief of the armed forces, in his order, appreciated these commander's valuable efforts in their previous posts.
He also expressed hope for boosting IRGC's allout potentials and its readiness in all fields.
Rear Admiral Fadavi was the IRGC deputy commander for coordination and Brigadier General Naqdi was the commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) force previously.
Earlier, in April, the Leader promoted Major General Hossein Salami to the rank of majorgeneral and then appointed him as IRGC chief.
MajorGeneral Salami was the acting commander of the IRGC previously.
