Swedish FM State Secretary meets with Mr. Zarif in Tehran
Annika SAlder, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday Nov. 7, 2016 in Tehran.
Annika SAlder, State Secretary to Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot WallstrAlm, paid an official visit to Tehran by invitation of her counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi heading a political delegation.
During her meeting with Foreign Minister Zarif, the two sides highlighted the need for expansion of bilateral ties and conferred on the most pressing regional and international developments. The two diplomats further exchanged views on sending humanitarian aid to war-torn countries.
Ms Annika SAlder also in her meeting with her counterpart, Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi on Tuesday Nov. 8, 2016 said she expects inking several documents between the two countries in upcoming visit of Prime Minister of Sweden to Tehran.
She added Sweden is ready to help development of trade relations between the two states and to study the grounds for investment in Iran.
Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister in this meeting called for boost of economic cooperation between Iran and Sweden and said banking cooperation is key to development of bilateral relations. He also welcomed the Swedish prime minister upcoming visit to Iran. He criticized politicization of human rights by certain states and adopting double standard approaches towards the issue.
