Syria attack will not help US, UK, France mask defeats in country: Palestinian researcher
Gaza, A Palestinian researcher on Middle East said on Saturday that the US, UK and France move to attack Syria under the alleged claims of using chemical weapons will do nothing to cover up their defeats in the Arab state.
Talking to IRNA on Saturday, Hassan Abdo described the Western officials' excuse for attacking the country as lie and ridiculous.
The US-led strikes on Saturday came after a suspected chemical weapons attack on the former rebel stronghold of Douma last week. This is while there is no evidence to substantiate this claim.
Abdo hailed the Syrian Army's success in countering the attack, saying that such an event reveals progress of Syrian air defense and said intercepting high-precision and radar evading missiles is a major achievement.
The history will write that Syria and its allies managed to defeat the triangle of US, UK and France amid the silence of the international community, he said.
US President Donald Trump wants to announce in a loud voice that we left Syria powerfully and not defeated and empty-handed, while the realities on the ground indicate otherwise, he said.
