Syria peace guarantors to meet on Nov 22: Kremlin

Moscow� Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday that presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey will convene in Sochi, Russia, on November 22 to discuss situation in Syria.

As guarantors of peace in Syria, the three heads of states are to focus on developments unfolding in the war-torn country, Peskov told reporters.

Hassan Rouhani, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan are to discuss necessary steps to reduce violence in the region, the issue of Syria's de-escalation zones, dispatching humanitarian aid to the country as well as share of guarantor states of Astana Peace Process in Geneva talks aimed at settlement of Syrian crisis, Russian RBK TV quoted Peskov as saying.

So far, seven rounds of Syrian talks have been held in Astana under Iran, Russia and Turkey.

Seventh round of Syrian peace talks was held in Astana on October 30-31, which brought together guarantor states of peace, Syrian representative, opponents of the Syrian government, with UN, US and Jordan envoys participating as observers.
