Syrian Army detains 60 French forces
Damascus, Syrian Army has detained 60 French military forces in Hasaka Province in the north of the country, Syrian media said on Thursday.
The detained forces crossed the Syrian border from Iraq in a convoy comprised of 20 Toyota vehicles.
The French forces entered Syria without authorization of Syrian government in early May to help the Kurdish-led militant group known as Democratic Syrian Forces.
The commander of the French forces acknowledged that they have been to Syria to support the militants and they mistakenly ended up in a checkpoint of the Syrian army in Hasaka.
His confessions are reportedly expected to be published in the near future.
