Syrian envoy lauds IRNA role in region, world
Tehran, Syrian ambassador to Iran lauded the significant role of the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in the region, the world and the war-torn Syria.
'IRNA has a high place at the national, regional and international levels as well as in Syria,' Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Mahmoud said in a meeting with Managing Director of the Islamic Republic News Agency Seyyed Zia Hashemi on Saturday.
The official lauded the significant role of the Islamic Republic News Agency in the region and the world and called for boosting of cooperation between this new agency and the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the recent Sochi Conference on Syria held in the Black Sea resort of Sochi with presence of all sides of the conflict and noted that this summit resolution will be the base of any decision on the future of the country.
Protecting the Syria sovereignty and its territorial integrity as well as supporting the Syrian Arab Army against terrorism are the base of political process for deciding the future, the envoy added.
He said that the Syrian people, government and leadership are committed to continue fighting terrorism in cooperation with their allies.
Mahmoud said that Iranian investors, entrepreneurs are welcome to attend the projects offered by the Syrian government and private sector for reconstruction of the war-torn region.
Targeting the Israeli warplane by the Syrian army showed that the county's leadership is committed to give decisive response to aggressors, he added.
The envoy referred to the US plot to form an armed group in the northeastern parts of the country and said that the US aims to partition the regional states for the benefit of Zionist regime.
He hailed the achievements made by the axis of resistance and said that all enemy conspiracies were foiled.
'Presence of Turkish and US forces is illegal,' the ambassador said, describing them as 'occupying forces'.
