Tehran-Ankara cooperation helps promote regional security
Kuala Lumpur, Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop and Head of Iranian delegation in Bali, Indonesia Noor Mohammad Torbati Nejad underlined the fact that Tehran-Ankara cooperation help develop security in the region.
Referring to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's trip to Tehran to participate in trilateral meeting on Syria crisis, Sentop said such meetings will help promote security in the region.
He slammed the presence of world powers in the region saying its consequences are nothing but insecurity in the region.
Their presence will also bring destructive effects for other countries, he added.
He urged regional countries to maintain cooperation for creating peace and stability and to respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighbors.
Meanwhile, Torbati Nejad said Iran and Turkey have a lot in common and have always been exposed to the danger of disintegration.
He referred to omission of dollar from transactions as one of the solutions for promoting trade ties between Iran and Turkey.
Iranian Majlis (Parliament) welcomes financial and banking agreements between the two countries to set them free from dollar hegemony, he added.
He also pointed to customs issues and developing railways as an important issue in neutralizing sanctions and facilitating economic relations.
Terrorism is an obstacle to sustainable development in the region, Torbati Nejad said, adding that cooperation between Iran and Turkey in fighting terrorism especially in Syria shows that both countries can solve regional problems by managing challenges.
