Tehran dismisses Bahrain claims on forged passports

Tehran, Iran's foreign ministry has dismissed Bahrain interior ministry's allegations on detention of some Iranian citizens on charge of using forged passports.

'No evidence has been submitted to Iranian officials, so the information cannot be verified,' said Bahram Qasemi, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Monday.

Referring to the lack of diplomatic relations between Tehran and Manama over the recent past years, he said that no visa has been issued to the Iranian citizens by the Bahraini government.

Bahrain's interior ministry in a statement has claimed that the security forces in the country had detained 14 Iranians that allegedly entered the country with fake passports.
