Tehran police detains 300 rioters
Tehran, About 300 of violent rioters in northern Tehran were detained, said spokesman of the Iranian police on Tuesday.
'In one of the streets of northern Tehran, there was a riot last night; after the deadline of the police was over at 4:00 a.m., the riot was subdued by the security forces and the main instigators were arrested,' said Saeed Montazerolmahdi.
In the unrest, held by a group of dervishes, five of the law enforcement forces were killed in a bus and car attack and stabbing, 30 were injured, and some of the rioters were injured as well, he said.
Public property, people's cars and homes were also damaged by the rioters, said the spokesman.
