Surabaya, Indonesians embarking on this year's Hajj can now enjoy a smoother journey thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Makkah Route Initiative, which provides dedicated airport lounges equipped with cutting-edge technology at departure points like Juanda International Airport in Surabaya.Upon arrival at the airport in the dedicated halls, pilgrims are met by Indonesian-speaking staff who assist them through every step. Advanced technology at designated counters expedites travel procedures, including essential health checks and entry registration. Luggage is efficiently coded and sorted based on pre-arranged transportation and accommodation, ensuring a seamless transition upon arrival in the Kingdom.Pilgrims interviewed commended the speed and ease of the process. They expressed gratitude for the initiative, which eliminates the stress of lengthy procedures.They also said the initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's long-standing tradition of supporting pilgrims and extending humanitarian aid.The fi rst Makkah Route Initiative flight from Surabaya, carrying around 300 pilgrims, departed on May 12.Source: Saudi Press Agency
