Turkey demands exemption from US sanctions on Iran
Ankara, Turkey's foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ankara had demanded that the United States grant a special exemption to Turkey in pursuit of sanctions against Iran.
Cavusoglu made the remarks in an interview with Anatolia news agency on the start of the second round of the United States' sanctions against Iran on November 4th, Turkey has a strong commercial partnership with Iran, especially in the oil sector, and has announced its vision clearly to the US for purchasing its oil needs from Iran.'
When we do not diversify our buying, we need to buy energy from these countries, he said, adding that Turkey imports natural gas from Iran and Russia.

He added that Turkey's Toprash company, also a buyer of Iranian oil, has sent a delegation to the United States to explain the reasons for the purchase of oil from Iran to Washington authorities.
