Turkey to continue natural gas purchase from Iran
Tehran, Despite US sanctions, Turkey will continue importing Iran natural gas, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
'Turkey will continue to buy natural gas from Iran in line with its long-term supply contract despite Trump's threats to punish countries doing business with Iran,' Reuters quoted Erdogan as saying.
We need to be realistic ... Am I supposed to let people freeze in winter? ...Nobody should be offended. How can I heat my people's homes if we stop purchasing Iran's natural gas? he added.
The United Nations General Assembly which is one of the six bodies of the organization and represents all 193 members of it holds annual meetings in late September. Attendance of many heads of state, premiers, and foreign ministers of countries makes the UNGA annual meetings an important venue for the world leaders to address the most important national, regional, and international issues in their speeches.
This year, the UNGA annual session was held from Sept 18-25.
The gathering also gave an opportunity to world statesmen to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
