Two Iranians become finalists at U17 World Championships freestyle wrestling

Tehran, IRNA – Two Iranian teenagers qualified for the final stage at the Under 17 World Championships 2022, underway in the Italian capital Rome, in freestyle wrestling.

Mohammad Reza Assadi defeated his Azeri competitor in the 51 kg weight, ascending to the final where he will compete with Luke Lilledahl from the United States.

Another Iranian teenager Ebrahim Elahi qualified for the final stage, where he will wrestle with a competitor from Kyrgyzstan, after defeating his Indian competitor in the semi-final in the 60 kg weight.

Two other Iranian teenagers also qualified for the third place match which is set to take place on Sunday.

The U17 World Championships 2022 is held by United World Wrestling (UWW) on July 25-31 in greco-roman wrestling, women’s wrestling and freestyle wrestling.
