US isolated than ever: MP
The US is more isolated than ever before and its allies do not follow its policies, senior Iranian lawmaker said on Thursday.
The US will lose the economic war on Iran and its allies will not follow it in the anti-Iranian sanctions, Mehrdad Lahouti, a member of the Parliament (Majlis)'s Energy Commission said.
He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Lahouti said the US sanctions against Iran are not supported by other members of the UN Security Council and the country is more isolated than ever.
The Iranian nation is united and will bypass the sanctions, the MP added.
The US President Donald Trump announced early May that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate sanctions which had been lifted under the accord.
The first round of the sanctions snapped back into place in August, with the second round which will aim the energy and oil sector taking effect on November 5.
This is while other signatories to the deal (i.e. Britain, France, Germany, China and Russia) have thus far criticized Washington's unilateral move and have repeatedly stressed their commitment to the deal.
