US measures in region not to affect Iran policies: Foreign Ministry
Tehran, Iran's Foreign Ministry described the recent attack by the US and its European allies on Syria as wrong, provocative and against all international laws and conventions and emphasized that the attack will not affect Iran's policies.
On Saturday morning, US in coordination with UK and France attacked some targets in Syria under the pretext of alleged chemical attack near Damascus.
Washington claims that it was a response to an alleged chemical weapon attack near Damascus. The US blames the attack on the government of Syria.
'Iran has always strongly defended its major principles, pursuing its regional and international policies, he said, adding that such measures cannot affect the country's policies,' Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said in his weekly press conference on Monday.
'The US expansionist policies have proved in the past that Washington uses false claims and pretexts for taking such steps in various countries, and it is likely that Washington repeats the conduct,' Qasemi said.
Today, the anomalies seen in the world and the region are the result of US strategic mistakes and its blatant approach during the past decades that have inflicted the serious instability on the region, the spokesman said.
