US official’s remarks psychological war: Iran official
Tehran, White House national security adviser's remarks about deploying forces to the Middle East to warn Iran are part of the US psychological war, a senior Iranian official said.
Precise monitoring of Iran's armed forces show that the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group has entered the Mediterranean Sea, 21 days ago and White House national security adviser John Bolton's statement is a an unskillful use of a worn out event to wage psychological war against Iran, Keyvan Khosravi, Spokesman of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran said in a message released on Monday.
The Iranian official referred to the US Army's continuous failures, facing the region's crises and said that it is unlikely that the US Army staff and commanders have the desire to test the proven capabilities of Iranian armed forces.
White House national security adviser John Bolton said in a statement Sunday night that the US is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the US Central Command region, an area that includes the Middle East.
Bolton said the move was in response to 'a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings.' He didn't provide details, but said the US wants to send a 'clear and unmistakable' message to Iran that 'unrelenting force' would meet any attack on the US interests or those of its allies.
'The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces,' he said, dispatches reported.
