US seeking to abuse UNSC: Iran’s Zarif
Tehran, The US President Donald Trump is planning to abuse the UN Security Council, Iran's foreign minister said Wednesday.
'There's only one UNSC resolution on Iran. .@realDonaldTrump is violating it & bullying others to do same,' Mohammad-Javad Zarif wrote on his Twitter page referring to the attempts by the President to press US allies to tighten the noose on Iran's economy.
The US re-imposed sanctions on Iran after it withdrew unilaterally from the nuclear deal.
'Now he plans to abuse presidency of SC to divert a session�item devoted to Palestine for 70 yrs� to blame Iran for horrors US & clients have unleashed across M.E. #chutzpah,' he said.
Donald Trump will preside over a UN Security Council meeting on Iran during the annual gathering of world leaders in New York, the US ambassador Nikki Haley said.
The US officials have accused Iran of destabilizing the region. The allegations come amid the trade wars Washington is waging against many countries across the world and the numerous regimes of sanctions that the US is imposing on them.
