US violating int’l norms: Chinese analyst
Beijing, US president and his government are violating international norms and agreements, including Iran Deal, said the director of Institute of West Asian and African Studies.
'Exiting Iran Deal, not only did [US President] Trump disrespect an international accord, he ignored an agreement made by big countries,' said Wei Liang.
Wei, who is professor at Beijing University, said that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), popularly known as Iran Deal, is an international accord confirmed by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and a pattern for solving international problems.
He added that the US turned its back on the international community and unilaterally rejected the deal which is accepted by its signatories, international organizations, UNSC.
Referring to the historical ties between Iran and China, he said that it would be a lose-lose result if they retreat from their relations.
He added that Beijing and Tehran should minimize the effects of the sanctions on Iran.
