Visit to Pakistan fruitful, says Iranian FM

Tehran, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif has upon return from his two-day Pakitan visit tweeted that he had had 'fruitful meetings' in the country.

The message, titled Fruitful meetings in Islamabad with PM @ImranKhanPTI, Army Chief, Speaker and Foreign and Finance Ministers, read that he was the first foreign minister that was received by Pakistan's new government.

'Emphasis on expanding bilateral, regional and global partnership. Neighbors our priority,' he said.

The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a two-day visit. During his tour to Pakistan, Zarif held talks with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Finance Minister Asad Umar.

It was Zarif's eighth visit to Pakistan since he became Iranian foreign minister in 2013.
