Weakening int’l bodies dangerous to world: Iran top security official
Tehran, Unilateral approach and weakening international organizations, which is being followed by the US administration, is a threat for the world security and economy, said the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani on Thursday.
On Thursday, Shamkhani had a meeting with Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev, who is in Tehran to partake in the Regional Security Meeting, to discuss expansion of cooperation and the methods to counter terror threats in the region.
Shamkhani said the collaborations between Iran and Russia to fight terrorism was a success and emphasized the necessity of exchange of ideas on regional and international issues.
'Logical policies of the two countries in expansion of collaboration and balancing the exchangeable capacities in politics, economy and security have had a decisive role in managing regional crises,' said Shamkhani.
'US' use of sanctions against Iran, Russia and China is due to frustration over progress, growth and power of these countries.'
He also said the Zionist regime has been after stabilizing the crisis in Syria and directly supported the terrorists and targeted the Syrian army and has taken some measures against the forces fighting the terrorists. Israel will regret that if it continues to do so, he added.
