‘Women with Gunpowder Earrings’ wins Paris Festival’s Prize
Tehran, Documentary film 'Women with Gunpowder Earrings', produced by Documentary and Experimental Film Center directed by Reza Farahmand and produced by Morteza Shabani, won the 16th International Festival of Signes de Nuit in Paris.
The statement, issued by the jury of the Signes de Nuit (Night Signs) International Festival of Paris, reads, Women with Gunpowder Earrings' is a direct and prominent reference that allows different parts of the war to speak.'
Reza Farahmand, with his brave camera, which is very close to subjects, takes us to the extreme tensions of the front line and the suffering of the people and succeeds in capturing images and speeches that display ambiguity in the discourse of ISIL supporters.
The documentary after success at the Cinema Verite Festival of Fajr, attended its first international presence among the seven feature films of the Locarno International Film Festival's Week of Critics, Switzerland, which was welcomed by the audience. The film continues its international presence at the 61st International Film Festival of Leipzig.
