World witnessing unity, conversion between Iran, Iraq
Baghdad, Iraqi Vice President Nouri Al-Maliki said on Tuesday that today, world witnesses unity and empathy between the two friendly and brotherly countries of Iran and Iraq.
In a meeting with Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi, he added, Thanks to the unity between the two countries, we witness good cooperation in various cultural fields.
The Iraqi former prime minister further noted that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Iran was turned into a free country and culture emerged as one of its major fields of activity.
Iran's scientific ranking among the top eight countries across the world indicates the country's intellectual and cultural genius, al-Maliki said.
Salehi, for his part, said that Iran has so far held common various cultural and artistic programs in neighboring Iraq, hoping that such cultural activities would expand in the future.
Salehi arrived in Baghdad late Monday on a four-day official visit to the country, accompanied by several of his deputies.
