The Yemeni army and popular committee forces inflicted heavy defeat on the Saudi troops in Jizan, southwestern country, inside the Saudi border, that were preparing to launch an attack on Yemen, a Yemeni TV channel reported.
According to the Yemeni 'Al-Masirah' television channel, the operation Saturday night took some hours and the Yemeni forces brought to their knees the Saudi troops.
During the operation, some of the coalition forces were killed and others were injured.
Some of the Saudi senior commanders were also reported to be among those who were killed.
In the same vein, Spokesman of the Yemeni Army Brigadier General Sharaf Luqma said that enemy has become surprised by Yemeni army's special operation.
We have strong defensive fronts and Yemeni forces are superior in battlefield, Luqma added.
The Saudi forces attempts to take control of Al Hudaydah Port have so far been foiled by Yemenis.
Al Hudaydah is the fourth-largest city in Yemen and its principal port on the Red Sea.
Saudi Arabia and its regional allies attacked Yemen in March 2015 to bring back to power the deposed president of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.
The aggressors have committed horrible war crimes against Yemeni civilians during the past three years.
