Zarif slams Europe for not resisting US economic terrorism
Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister in a message criticized Europe for failing to confront US economic terrorism.
A year after US' unlawful abrogation of JCPOA, Europe can't muster political will to defy US' #EconomicTERRORISM. Not even by setting up a single banking channel for humanitarian aid, Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
He added E3 are instead busy appeasing @realDonaldTrump by pressuring UN over our defensive capabilities.
The term economic was used by Zarif when US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo promoted fake news with regard helping Iranian floodstricken people.
'FAKE NEWS: @SecPompeo claim that US 'ready to assist @ifrc, which would direct money through Iranian Red Crescent for relief,' Zarif tweeted on Tuesday night in a related message.
'REAL NEWS: As @ICRC President noted, Iranian Red Crescent can't receive any funds due to illegal US sanctions. US should own up to its ECONOMIC TERRORISM,' he noted.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said the US has blocked Red Crescent's accounts and hampered issuing humanitarian aids from other countries to Iranian floodstricken people.
He added that the US act which happened on the occasion of the anniversary of its withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is an indication of US officials' antipopular approach which is in contrast with their ridiculous slogans and claims saying sanctions are not against the Iranian people, but in favor of them.
This is while, London has prepared a set of especial rules to continue sanctions against Iran.
Despite the fact that UK parliament in its 2018 law on Brexit has completely changed all regulations into domestic ones, but the UK government has prepared a special document to change EU sanctions against Iran to its internal regulations.
The regulations in 52 pages and 78 chapters have been presented to UK parliament on March 7 and will be officially announced after UK withdrawal from EU.
Based on the document, ratification of the mentioned regulations have been aimed to enable UK to implement its sanctions against Iran efficiently after Brexit.
The document added that sanctions regulations will be running inside UK land and water territories and will include all citizens inside and outside the country.
The EU has passed two sets of sanctions against Iran first those related to Iran nuclear program and second sanctions aiming to encourage Iran to 'obey human rights'.
According to the document, the US sanctions are to encourage Iran to 'abandon nuclear weapons program', restrict the ability of Iran to 'develop nuclear weapons and nuclear weapons delivery systems' and to promote implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
After the JCPOA came into effect on January 16, 2016, EU suspended some of its sanctions against Iran.
This is while as per the document, restricted goods including military goods, missilelist goods, nuclearlist goods, graphite and relevant metals and restricted technology meaning military technology, missilelist technology, nuclearlist technology and relevant enterprise resource planning software are still in place.
