Zarif: US claims on JCPOA totally wrong
Tehran, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in his twitter page that US is calling JCPOA as a personal deal between two governments and claims it is following a treaty but the whole claim is wrong.
'US calls JCPOA a personal agreement between two governments, claiming it seeks a treaty. Wrong. It's an int'l accord enshrined in a UN SC res. Plus, US has violated its treaty obligations too and faces 2 suits at ICG. Apparantley US only mocks calls for peace.' Zarif wrote on his Twitter account on Thursday.
Zarif's tweet was in reaction to anti-Iran remarks of the US special envoy for Iran Brian Hook on Wednesday.
His speech was strongly criticized by American peace activist Medea Benjamin but Hook made fun of her by saying she had drunk a lot of coffee in the morning.
Hook said US is ready for holding talks with Iran and claimed that US is not looking for an inter-governmental agreement, but an international treaty.
