Zulfiqur Rahman appointed Bangladesh envoy to Brazil

DHAKA, June 13, 2017 (BSS) - The government has appointed Md. Zulfiqur Rahman as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to the Federative Republic of Brazil.

Zulfiqur Rahman, a career diplomat of 9th BCS (Foreign Affairs), joined Foreign Service in 1991 and currently he is serving as the Ambassador of Bangladesh in the Republic of Korea, a foreign ministry statement said here yesterday.

In his distinguished diplomatic career, he served as the ambassador of Bangladesh in Turkey, Deputy High Commissioner in India and Minister at Bangladesh Permanent Mission to United Nations in New York, USA.

He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Manama, Los Angeles in different capacities.

Md. Zulfiqur Rahman did his MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College, and obtained DESS (Masters in Diplomacy and Administration of International Organization) from the University of Paris.

He also completed several professional training courses at home and abroad, and represented Bangladesh in numerous bilateral and multilateral meetings.
